If you’re looking for the quintessential Italian cycling trip then Tuscany most certainly ticks all the boxes. Quiet roads lined with cypress trees, a patchwork landscape of olive groves and vineyards combined with exceptional gastronomic and cultural traditions make Tuscany a blueprint for the perfect cycling adventure.

Our tour seeks to embrace this blueprint whilst also staying true to our philosophy of seeking out the road less travelled and offering an authentic travel experience. Hence, whilst we still pedal the rolling hills of the Chiantigiana and visit some of Tuscany’s iconic sites we also open your eyes to some of the lesser known highlights that the region has to offer.

It is for this reason that we start our tour just south of Tuscany and give you a little taste of Umbria and Lazio to start with. Starting in the Renaissance jewel of Orvieto and then heading to the villages of Pitigliano and Sorano, that are steeped in Etruscan history, we’re sure you’ll appreciate our decision.

Heading into Tuscany we pass through the region's premier wine area where you’ll find the villages of Montepulciano and Montalcino before heading up in to the heart of Chianti Classico country. We then pass by Siena and San Gimignano on our way to the enchanting town of Volterra where we conclude our tour. The ride up to Volterra in the late afternoon is among our favourites and is a great way to end the tour.

Together with the timeless landscapes of Tuscany we also introduce you to a rustic cuisine that has few equals and we sample an array of Italy’s finest wines. Clichéd as it may sound Tuscany it not just a destination, it is an experience.
